Congratulations, Seariders or giving us this a wonderful opportunities to share memories. On the night the United States Senate passed the Statehood bill, which was the final vote needed for Statehood, I was at Georgetown Law Center. The next day, as a member of the staff of U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy, I had the opportunity to accompany Senator Kennedy to the Senate Floor and on behalf of the people of Hawaii, thanked him for his support the night before. He said "Hawaii deserved Statehood" and "hopefully, someday I would represent Hawaii in the Senate.". After serving as an assistant to U.S. Senator Oren E. Long, one of our first two Senator, I had the honor to serve Hawaii and Waianae in the State Senate! Mahalo, Francis A. Wong
