In life humans have had to interact with another. In family, school, and out in the every day life. The people we accept into our world and spend most of our time with we call our friends. In sports people go against each other for a win, but for freshmen, Christopher Passi and Jahren Muliagatele, they play as a team to win the trophy of a closer friendship.
They started off as elementary pals and as the years went by their friendship grew. From being friends, to being best friends, they became brothers. A ‘Bromance’ was formed, a strong, tight, caring and loving friendship between two boys.
“We tell each other anything. We communicate good with each other. We can joke about anything and we won’t be irritated. We’re like a familia; aiga!” said Christopher Passi.
Every friendship has different reasons for being strong. For Jahren and Chris 2 years of volleyball in elementary, 1 year of flag football and 3 years of football together is what created everything. The fatigue from spiking, catching and tackling is what tied them close together.
“He’s like a coach to me, he always pushes me to pass my limits, but I say it’s like a good thing because that will help me later on,” Muliagatele said.
Being best friends with someone includes some type of disagreement, between them two, Chris and Jahren never had one.
“We’ve never fought against each other, not once,” said Passi.
Pushing each other forward and working together as one is what made everything fall into place for them both.
Before Motivating Chris Jahren stated, “we used to hate each other,” but shortly after playing on the same team, Jahren felt the need to help a brother out and they “started to get to know each other more.”
Having someone to lean on for a rest or someone to cheer you on to keep going made them both realize that they had a true friend by there side, “He gives me words of encouragement, he pushes me,” said Passi.
Other then sports Jahren and Chris like to spend time just hanging out bonding without a field or a court.
“We walk around and hang out everywhere, we go together to the cafeteria to eat,” Said Muliagatele. Being with each other most of the time involves being with family for both of them, they see each other as brothers and treat each other as a family member.
“I always see them hanging out and playing around like brothers. Sometimes they get in to little arguments but they always make up and joke around later,” freshman Losi Mauga said.
Even though the future of playing sports out of high school is not seen, they both still want to pursue in doing sports.
“I see myself playing football and volleyball because that’s my two main sports, but I don’t think we’ll being going to the same college and playing because we both have different colleges in mind,” said Jahren.
With their ‘Two of a kind’ friendship, both Chris and Jahren say, “We’re still going to be close, and good friends no matter what, I love you bro, I love you too!”
