Searider News has been airing on Honolulu's cable public access channel 54 Sunday evenings at 8:30 PM since 1997.

One of the first serious productions for SP, Searider News provides a real-world television production environment for SP students to master skills needed in commercial video production projects.

In addition to the technical skills needed in airing a television show, students also learn some of the "softer" skills required of journalists such as developing a story, interviewing people, writing scripts, and managing projects.
